I bought a bunch of these wooden boxes at the Dollar Store a year or two ago, I even built some very cool "box" dioramas that you can see if you scroll around the blog, they'll turn up somewhere I'm sure. I took one of the boxes and cut out windows and then bricked them up, I'm sure they'll look pretty cool when installed into a large diorama and give it a really sure sense of depth.
The materials used were wooden dowels, coffee stirrers, popsicle sticks (bricks) and a busted up wooden dish rack.
