Trouble.

Ah, Quatro Aucassin , the only member of the large Aucassin Clan who bothered to learn English. The Aucassin's are remarkable and fearless fishermen who have a camp on the outskirts of town by Hobson Bayside and are said to have dove deep down into the Shrubanks Shelf to recover treasure. Most people say that they're just a load of poaters (scavengers) but I think they're an honourable enough bunch. Even Quatro says there's no hard feelings for the scar that Denny gave him.
as relayed by Deputy Blackfish
No one is more famous than the Gomez, if you've spent a night in jail here you've spent it with him. Lance Head military prison won't take him, no jail in the Mallory States will have him, so he gets his own cell down town. All he does is read and lift weights and eat stew, he's become such a celebrity that he's more like a psychiatrist offering all kinds of wisdom that he's picked up from his books. Just don't get too close, he's killed 200 people that we know of, but he has 253 tears tattooed on his body.

The Essential Services of Any How Town

Town Doctor Banyah Butler, daughter of famed Voodoo Priestess, Mama Ken, Banyah claims to not use the Ju Ju of her family, the Lampo clan but the jury is still out on that. She spends most of her time tending to the wounded of Any How Town, soldiers are still coming home after "The Last Good War".
McGiveny Briggs

This is Jadis Stout, my boss, he runs the most popular of the bars in Any How Town, the Monday Hatred, where I work, he loves music and "the Hate" (as it's called for short) has the best bands in the city. Rockaway Fanny and the Five Dollar Lighter are my favourite but he says he likes Donald Rudder and the 28 Trolley best, did I mention he only has one ear.

Twenty Fossil Duncan

Twenty Fossil Duncan lives on the outskirts of town, was an adventurer of some kind back in his younger days, claims he was an archaeologist who fought the Gargans for ancient treasure. He doesn't bother anybody, he tells a good story and that's enough for me on the slow days.

Marcelin Gargin

Meet Marcelin Gargan, the leader of the Gargan families that decided to stay in Any How Town despite the fact that we were at war with their country. Of course we did the sensible humane thing and locked them up in a camp until the war was over, then we let them out, well, the one's who survived were let out. We think the Gargan's should thank us for what we did for them. Instead we believe they are stealing all the bicycles in Any How Town.
The Gargans as a race suffer from a genetic pigmentation problem, the older they get the more blotchy and chalky they become, most Gargans as a point of pride do not hide this defect, some conceal themselves with make up, this was a good idea during the Last Good War, unless you were suspected of spying.
Street slang for the Gargan Army was, "the G Suits" given the black ties that all members of the Army wore as part of their uniform. These ties were kept as trophies after a kill.

Any How Town Board of Tourism

This is Commander Reusille Hulks, head of the military in Any How Town, hailed as a hero for his ingenious idea to lower the age of enlistment to fourteen years of age. It was this canny decision that led to the creation of "The Infantry Lemon" Squad and then to the victory of the Allied Forces over the Gargan Army at what is called, "The Last Charge". He is also responsible for opening the gates of "Lance Head" military prison to boost the ranks of the enlisted army.
The look of the Commander is based on Bill Clement, Canadian Legend and author of Quantum Jump.

Inspirational Quotes from the folks of Any How Town

This is Well Known Healey or as we all call'er "The Gin Witch". She's as unapologetic as the rest of us when it comes to her drinking, but we always seem to end up apologizing for her. Wellknown flew freight for awhile during the Last Good War, she kept claiming she was getting shot down, but we all know that she just kept crashing them cargo planes into the Ocean and probably trading the loot to the Aucassin's or the Lampo's or any of the other "Families" around Any How Town.

Romantic Advice from the folks of Any How Town

This is Denny Stimson, some folks call him Death's Head behind his back. Now there is no nice way to say this, Denny lost his lips in the war and it's made him a little crazy. He's a good kid, he's killed more people for this country than anybody and for that we owe him our gratitude, and TWO drinks, no more or we have to go fetch his brother Wash from over at the Church, either that or we have to call the Baldy's and Denny HATES the Baldy's - so we don't call'em.He knows some good jokes, funny ones, real funny.

Welcome to Any How Town, the online comic.

I was watching the Laker Game while I did this, so the perspective is a little off, but live and learn. I think the image succeeds in giving just the right amount of information (however misleading) about the comic. We have our main character, his tool of choice, strange bottles of water and the newspaper tipping us to what has just happened.

We've started working incredibly hard on the graphic comic series "Any How Town" created, written, drawn and inked by me, A. Shay Hahn. For the first couple of weeks at the blog we are going to post "Character Testimonials" where the cast of Any How Town freely and unapologetically dispense advice on love, inspire you with sage advice and glean your horoscope.

There will be a character blurb about each one (actually maybe Thirty of the Fifty characters I've created so far) so you can get to know the folks around Any How Town.

It's a large cast. I hope you add this blog to your favourites.

What is "Any How Town" ?

Think "Northern Exposure" meets "Generation Kill" and that should give you a good idea on what the series is about, also if you've ever been a regular at a pub you will see yourself in the comic for sure.

I'm all going to write about how long it took me to get to a place where I could commit to this kind of work, a biographical telling of the creation of "Any How Town".
